Neue Mode 23258

Another project nearly completed – I just have to sew the hems! Yes, I am hooked on twist tops! This is Neue Mode 23258 made up in a rayon/lycra print from Lucy’s Fabrics.

I made this in a size 36 and it fits pretty well but I think I’ll go down to a 34 for my next one. My bra shows through the opening underneath the twist so I am either going to sew it closed or back it with a piece of nude fabric.

Oooooo . . . I like *that* fabric a lot! I like the pattern, too, it’s a little different than the standard twist top.

Very pretty, as is your previous one–the Butterick? Sally

Gigi, we’ve got the same tastes again. šŸ™‚ I have both that fabric and that pattern. Did you have to do a FBA for this pattern? If so, was it difficult? I just messed up my first try at another pattern, so any tips are appreciated. Your top looks gorgeous!

Jodi, I did not do an FBA on this pattern because, sniff, I don’t have much bust left after my weight loss. šŸ˜¦ However, if I were to do one, I’d cut the upper front piece in half at the CF, add a dart and then transfer it to the CF and cut on the fold. Isn’t it funny how we always end up with the same patterns and fabrics? Great minds think alike!

Looks great! Lucky you to get away with less alterations. You don’t have to do a HRB anymore? Is that from yoga?
You know, with a petite figure you look like you have a pretty bustline, I bet. Besides, you have a flat stomach to compensate!

Hey, do you want to share your weight loss story? Before & after pics?

Gigi, the top is adorable. I assume it’s going to the beach with you. Hope it’s a very relaxing vacation.

Congratulations on the weight loss, Gigi! I’ll bet you look fabulous. Thanks for the advice on the FBA — I’m sure it will help.

  8. I absolutely adore that fabric and what a great top. I could see it being dressed down or up!

  9. I LOVE and lust after this pattern … the upper bodice seaming is so unique. I may have to go shopping …
